I worked a very LONG night last night...it was our annual "Best of the Best" event at my school. This included a fabulous Project Fair by the gifted students of yours truly, school band performance, Japanese dancers, school picnic, and student work on display throughout the school.
One of the most exciting things of the evening was the visit by the Winter Carnival Royal Family! One of my students did research on the Winter Carnival for her project and it just so happens that her mother knows King Boreus pretty well and asked him to come.
He brought with him the Royal Guard, Klondike Kate and several of the princesses and "knighted" the five teachers at our school who are retiring this year. It was a real treat to be visited by such Royalty, especially since Winter is OVER!!
I was very proud of my students and the projects that they completed on non-fiction topics. The projects turned out great and we got tons of compliments on them!
I had to fill-in for an absent teacher at my other school this am....these 3rd graders have worn me out!
I am now pretty tired and looking forward to a nice long weekend. Now hopefully we will get some nice weather so I can go boating or swimming in the pool!
