How cool is today's date? We won't have this exact combo of numbers again for another 100 years. Weird!!
Anyway......
It wasn't until after 1am that I went to bed again last night...this time it was not due to being lost in a good book or being unable to sleep due to being wired off sudafed for my spring allergies. I stayed up late visiting with two very dear, long-time friends, Adebayo and Big Kris. Ade has lived 4 hours away from the Cities for the past 8 years now, so getting together as often as we did growing is hard to come by. I was very happy that he called me out of the blue on Tuesday night to let me know he'd be in town this weekend for a wedding and wanted to know if we could get together the next day. This was the first time he has come down to the Cities in over two years! I actually did have other plans for Wed night (we'll reschedule for Friday night, Jen!) but knew that I might not have the opportunity to see Ade again for a long time. We both called Kris to make sure he would be able to hang out with us as well...so glad he was able to!
Ade and Kris came over and hung out for awhile before we went to have dinner at the Lakeside Club. We wanted to take the guys to a place that has excellent food and service....a way for us to celebrate all being together at one time, and certainly more memorable than eating at McDonalds! The ribeye, prime rib and walleye that we ordered was delicious, melt-in-your-mouth good. mmmm!
After dinner the four of us went back to our house and hung out for several more hours, catching up on old times, etc. It always amazes me at how fast the time goes when you haven't seen someone in awhile. I have known these guys since I was in high school and they have both been very special to me and will be forever! Ade and Kris...Te Amo Mucho, Amigos!!
