I had a ton of things I wanted to talk about today, but since I wrote none of them down, we'll just see what happens with this little post!
Last night I met some friends at the brand new TGIFridays restaurant in town. Good stuff, Maynard! I had the brushetta chicken pasta in all its garlicy goodness. Its always nice to have another option for dinner :)
We went to the mall and then to Shinders afterward. I picked up the new Creating Keepsakes magazine and was pleased to see so many ideas that I might actually use! There was a really cute Christmas Tree layout in there by Kristi Contes. It is always fun to see layouts done by familiar faces! I have not jumped on the publishing bandwagon YET. My layouts are almost all two pagers and I think it is harder to get noticed that way. Plus I can hardly ever remember what products I used and that is a faux-pas in the publishing world. Maybe one of these days I'll actually visit scrap submit and see what I would need to do to get noticed! Another reason I haven't tried is because I would hate to have the pressure of feeling like every layout I do has to be perfect and publishable. I am doing this for ME, because I enjoy pictures and displaying them in a fun way.
Speaking of layouts, I finally got these two finished. Not my best work, but two less to worry about now! (The stack continues to grow!) This one was fine until I ruined it by stamping the title with ink. I should of used paint or large letter stickers instead. A friend at Scrapjazz also brought to my attention that I made a spelling error in my journaling. I visited the Bazaar, not the Bizarre. Whoops!
And I think the background on this one is too busy. I have patterned paper coming out of my ears so I am trying to use up as much as I can!
And now I have a question for those of you "PEAS". Which message boards do you frequent at that site? I am curious because I have always been a Scrapjazz girl and most of us there jump from forum to forum freely. I have heard rumors here and there that the NSBR board at 2Peas can get a little feisty and that most of the girls at 2Peas stick to just one board, making many "mini communities". I know I have several friends at 2Peas (as well as at SJ) and I would like to know where to find you there! Where will I be welcomed? Also, if there are any Peas here, could you tell me your usernames??
One last thing: I bought the new Disney Movie, "Aliens of the Deep", directed by James Cameron (who did Titanic) and we watched it when we got home late last night. What an AWESOME video! They do real-live dives to the very bottom of the ocean to see what kind of life they find there. It is soooo cool! It makes you realize how truly incredible our planet is!
Alrighty everyone, have a fabulous weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I loved the CK December edition too! I saw Elsie Flannigan's layouts and I also recognized Kristi's. I have never published layouts either -or submitted anything for publication. I think it's hard enough to find the time to scrap -never mind finding the extra time to document the products I use! Like you, I like to enjoy the process of scrapbooking itself and I also mostly scrapbook in two-page layouts. I *love* your work, it's always inspiring. It's always awesome to see your pages on your blog. I check out 2peas every now and then for inspiration, but I don't use their message board at all. I wish I had time to do it because they sound like a really awesome and supportive on-line community. Between life, work, blogging and scrapbooking --all my time is stretched out as much as it can give itself out.

I don't go on the messages boards a whole lot, but I go into the Pub and the General Scrappin board. My user name there is Marielos03. Come check it out, they don't bite.

Kristi, I'm so happy to hear that you don't worry about the whole publishing thing. I don't really either, it's too stressful, plus it always seems to be the same people being published, which makes me weary. I am so behind on my Scrapjazz praise, ever since I returned from my trip I haven't been online to Scrapjazz that much. I just recently joined 2Peas and it's alright but it's not Scrapjazz.
Your layouts looks good!

Hey! I'm a "Pea"- its the first online forum of its kind that I found and I kinda always stuck with it. I've made friends through the site and generally have good interactions there. There can be a ton of drama, but I just hit 'back' on my browser and ignore it. I'm 22 years old- I've been around drama filled girls for how long now?!? and definitely don't need to allow myself to get in with it with housewives halfway across the country that I don't care about ya know? So I think if you are the right type of person you can just ignore it.
I never go onto the NSBR board because I want to spend my free time in the best way possible. If I'm on 2Peas I'd rather be checking out layouts or talking about scrap stuff. Also, non-scrapbook related things are what I chat with my boyfriend, my mom, my 'real life' girlfriends about- I really don't have the desire to do so with other Peas.
I frequent the Pub and the General Scrappin' board. I try to answer questions for people and its good for tips and info!
So I think its a great site and one of the best for inspiration around and I love your pages (you are the master of the 2-pager) so I'd love to see you Pea-ing.
Oh and my Pea name is CAjess14.
I also check out downmemorylaneco.com and scrapsupply.com because they have girls on their design teams I really like and who's work I like checking out. I started posting on scrapsupply recently and like it because its a small community. On 2Peas your page passes through the gallery so quick and sometimes I feel like I get so behind on praise, but on scrapsupply (or other smaller sites) you can check it out in a more relaxed state.
Wow I just typed a buttload here! I found your blog awhile from someone elses site you were linked from- fun fun read! :)

You should come visit scribblesonline.com
i used to "pea" alot but found it just too big too big...Scribbles is big enough to have active boards but small enough to feel like a cool little community...
