They're off! Girls Poker Party, Static X

Saturday was the last day of family with us.....we took them out to breakfast and then spent some time with Bacha before they left.

We spent most of Saturday shopping/running errands....most places didn't seem that busy yet.  We were out in Minneapolis later that afternoon and I had been having a major craving for Pad Thai noodles...so off to Sawatdee for dinner we went!

I had just a few hours to chill before my friend (and neighbor) Shannon and I took off for a little "Girls Poker Night" party at another friend's house just down the street.  Since it was only two blocks away, we walked.....despite the cold ass weather!  These were some girls we went to high school with....about half of them are really serious about playing Texas Hold 'Em, the other half of us kind of know how to play, but just wanted to have some fun.  They had an official looking card table set up....It was a $20 buy-in and we each got 40 chips.  I had pretty crappy cards all night and luckily Shannon and I both went out on the same hand and were able to go home somewhat early! Our friend Mollie ended up taking 1st place and won a nice pot.  I never have played in a tournament before, but we still had fun!

I was finally able to sleep in on Sunday :)  We took a little drive north and went to Quack's for lunch.  You can't beat their Sunday 12 oz prime rib special for $10, so we go there often on Sundays. 

Sunday night we went back downtown Mpls to see Static X play....neither of us really were in the mood to go out, but we had already paid almost $30 for the tickets and didn't want to lose out on the money.  It was a pretty good show, but I think I would rather have spent my evening taking it easy and getting some scrapping done!!

Now it is Monday morning and back to work time.  I sure hope this week goes fast!!

Ok I busted out a laugh when I read you lunched at Quack's. I cannot wait till Caroline visits your blogs and reads that!!!
It's my special name for her that I gave her years ago....
