Had a nice, relatively quiet Thanksgiving this year. For the first time in many, many years, my parents hosted the holiday at their house. It is tradition that we spend Thanksgiving with my dad's side of the family, alternating between St Cloud and the Cities. My dad's brother Steve and sister Susan and their families joined us, making it a much smaller gathering than usual. (Instead of 40 we had 12) Jeffrey couldn't make it because he was in AZ celebrating with my mom's side of the family.
Here are some pics of our Thanksgiving:
Me and my Mamacita (For the record, I have always hated the color orange and I am trying to break out of my shell)
Brian, Michelle and Annika. Annika is so funny and cute! She speaks her own language now...you can't understand it, but she is always talking away at full speed. She is going to make a wonderful big sister to Bianca (only 10 weeks to go!)
Susan, Gene, Katie and Mike
Cindy and Collin (who just turned 16 and now has his driver's license!!)
The table centerpiece....
I took pics of all sorts of things, including my plate of food! Have I ever mentioned that Green Bean Casserole is my favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal??? It is usually the thing my aunt Janice brings, but since she wasn't able to attend this year, my mom put me in charge of making it. The recipe calls for cheddar cheese croutons, which are impossible to find around here. Sure you can find cheese and garlic at any store, but never cheese without the garlic. After stopping at four stores on Wed, I found Romano cheese croutons and made it with that. Turned out pretty good!!
Following dinner we had our traditional "walk around the block" after dinner. My parents neighborhood looks great with all the Christmas lights!
For dessert we had brownie cheesecake, some sort of apple bar/cake, and pumpkin chiffon pie. Yummy!
Hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving!
What a great looking family...and food! I took pictures of the food too! Guess that's what scrappers do, huh?
Thanks for stopping by my site!
