Several Thursdays ago now I blogged about Personality types. Today I want to delve into that a little deeper and specifically discuss thrill-seeking.
I will be the first to admit that I am a big chicken and do not take many risks when physical activities come into play. I have many fears that have only gotten worse as I have grown older....I definitely have some anxiety issues (which will be a further TFT topic!). I think there is a difference between being a thrill-seeker and being adventurous, so lets not get confused. For example, I would go on a spur-of-the-moment trip to just about anywhere, but I would never in a million years go bungee-jumping.
To me thrill-seeking is doing something very risky that gets the adrenaline pumping. You know, things like:
- Amusement park rides
- extreme sports
- sky-diving or parachuting
- rock climbing
- drug use
- racing
- committing crimes
- high-stakes gambling
- wrestling with crocodiles (ha ha)
- and basically anything that was on the show Fear Factor.
Many of you already know whether or not you are a thrill seeker, but I found a few quizzes that you might want to take just for fun.
Blogthings thrill seeking quiz
My questions to you are:
What is the craziest thrill you have had or would be willing to try? Have you ever regretted it or did it encourage you to do something even more thrilling?
Do you consider yourself a thrill-seeker?
Do you think thrill-seekers are born or made?

"I keep things chill" HAHA! I am all about safety. I could die on drugs. I could die street racing. I could die jumping out of a plane.
I do like roller coasters, but the whole time I'm thinking about how it could jump the track and I could die.
OMG I have issues.

Hey Kristi, I am not a thrill seeker at all. I was reading your list of crazy things and I don't think I can relate to any of them. I do like roller coasters, but not huge ones. I am seriously booooring!!!! :)

That comment above was from me. I forgot to post my name. I am not at my home computer. :)

i am adventurous! i like a good thrill but i don't think i go totally nuts. the one thing that really bummed me out was that i planned to go sky-diving two summer's ago - but then i found out i was pregnant and my hubby put the skids on that. my dad has sky-dived twice and bungie jumped once. maybe it's in my blood to want to try a few of those things in my lifetime. my husband just thinks i'm nuts for even considering it. :)

My post on my blog wasn't regarding buying coffee or starbucks cards or buying anything starbucks related for people in need -- i meant that they're slogans and stuff simply remind people to do nice things for others. I re-read what I wrote, and it does sound like i am saying that people should buy STARBUCKS stuff to give -- lol, no no no -- they should just buy stuff in general for people in need. :-)

I do think thrill seekers are born. I think at one point I was one, but not so much any more. I will never bungee jump, or jump out of a plane no matter how fun one tells me it is. I do get a kick out of gambling, and I'd love to learn to snowboard and do tricks and such along with skateboarding.

I am not a thrill seeker. I once liked to do stuff like that, but the older I get, the wimpier I get. I'm ok with it though, I don't need to risk my life to feel alive, so I'll stick with boring old michelle.

well according to those quizzes I'm pretty "chill". There are somethings I like to do...rollercoasters for one, but jumping out of planes for example is nuts! Shows like fear factor freak me out. I am so not a thrill seeker and never will be. I don't consider myself boring, but some might.
