I know I claim to not watch TV very often, but I will tell you what absolutely has my attention and is fun for me to watch: Monster Quest on the History Channel. Here is the official synopses of the series:
From Bigfoot to Swamp Beast, Monsterquest reveals the truth of legendary monster sightings around the world. Deploying the latest in hi-tech equipment, each episode scientifically examines the best evidence available, from pictures and video, to hair and bones, as well as the eyewitness accounts themselves. From pilots to policemen to ship captains, a number of seemingly credible people have seen things they can't explain. One part history, one part science and one part monsters, MonsterQuest discovers the truth behind these legendary monsters.
Has anyone watched this show??
Bear with me here, as many of you probably think the topic of crypto-zoology is pretty hokey, but isn't there something deep inside you that is curious and wonders "What if some of these tales about unknown creatures are true?"
I don't buy into all of the tales I hear, but isn't is possible that there really ARE giant bipedal apes walking the earth? We have gorillas, orangutans and chimpanzees, don't we??? Call me crazy, but I truly think its possible that Big Foot exists and I cannot get enough of these shows that go on the search looking for him. There is even a professional group of scientists called Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization that has a website with a ton of information about what is known about this creature, along with hundreds of eyewitness accounts.
My thought is that this earth is a pretty big place and we have not even begun to explore all of it. It is well-known that new species are being found every day, so certainly there are many more animal species all of the world that have not yet been discovered or have not yet been scientifically classified.
Does anyone else believe in the possibility of the existence of creatures such as those featured on Monster Quest? Or do you need scientific proof? I agree that Scientific proof would be nice for validation, but I also think that having faith and believing in the unknown mysteries of earth has a lot of value, just as it does for religious beliefs (and NO, I am not comparing the two).
Your thoughts on the topic??

I have never seen the show, but now I want to! Stuff like this is so Interesting to me. I definitely believe in the possible existence of creatures and secretly hope that there really is a Big Foot. I would love for them to one day actually find one of these Big Foots or Swamp Monsters so that we can find out more about them.
GREAT TOPIC!

Hmmm, I think I'd have to see it to believe it. I live part of my life having faith, but I also need to have that backed up, or validated with things like this. Just so you know, I won't be trompin' through the woods looking for it though!

I watch the show religiously. We cover the show and all aspects of cryptozoology at Cryptomundo.
We have participated in a couple of the episodes. Two of our members of the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy, http://www.texasbigfoot.com, participated in the all-female Bigfoot expedition in the Bigfoot episode and three of our members participated in the expedition that was featured in the Swamp Beast episode.

Reminder to self new shows to start watching. While I don't know if bigfoot is out there, I'm game to believe. I'm sure there are so many creatures that haven't been discovered yet. I'll admit though, I am a fact person. I like to have proof and facts.

I stumbled on Monster Quest it when there was a marathon & the kids & I are now hooked! Although we did miss the Bigfoot one :( I will have to DVR the series & see if I can catch it. My kids & I are all into the spooky, supernatural & sometimes unbelievably wierd shows; Paranormal State (love it!), Scariest Places on Earth, etc.
