Boring alert!
Nothing too exciting to report today but I feel like blogging and because its been a LONG time since I've done a random post, gonna go for it today :)
** First of all, so happy that my nephew Bennett was finally able to go home with Brian and Michelle yesterday. What a long week that was for them. They are overjoyed to have him home and Annika and Bianca are so excited about having a little brother! Michelle has adorable pics on her blog if you haven't already seen them....
** I am now on lesson 5 on my LU literature class. don't know how I am ever going to make it through 15 lessons, a midterm and a final. This class is too much work! My grades so far were A, A, C+ (stupid Huck Finn essay), A. I am currently reading some non-fiction writings of a Dakota woman, Zitkala Sa who was forced to leave her camp as a child to go to one of the Indian Boarding Schools. I have always felt so, so sad about what has happened to Native Americans and their culture. Did you know that it is estimated that there were once 8-25 million Natives in North America in Pre-Columbian times? In 1900 there were only 120,000. According to the US Census Bureau, in 2000 there were 1.8 million American Indians in the US
** Speaking of Native Americans, how cute is Olivia (Kara's baby) in her little Native outfit?!
** I am wearing an ugly striped shirt today.
** I really wanted to go on vacation somewhere for spring break, but I waited too long and prices are either redonkulous or sold out. Boo hoo.
** Working late this week for parent-teacher conferences. Wish we had a better turnout.
** I have several thoughts for my TFT post tomorrow...not sure which I will go with.
** Boring post...I told ya!
glad to hear your nephew is home now...
i'm sure it was a stressful week without him for Brian and Michelle!
