Oh, I cannot wait to read just for fun again!!!!
I do not mind reading the classics, but it is boring sometimes. It isn't the same when you have to read in small spurts and then stop to analyze and take quotes for a paper you have to write. I have been reading My Antonia forever now and I am only half way through. I enjoyed this book a lot more before I was assigned to read it!
I am on lesson 9 of 15 for this American Literature class. Not having a strict time line (and the massive amount of writing I am required to do) has made this class drag on forever. The good news is I got my mid-term grade in the mail and it was MUCH better than I had expected.
I can't wait to get one of my newer Jodi Picoult books in my hands :)
Besides putting myself on a spending freeze, I have not wanted to tempt myself with books I haven't had time to read (for fun).
Any great books I should tempt myself with???? You can see whta type of books I enjoy by checking out my left sidebar :) Your suggestions might give me some incentive to finish these assignments!
Try Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I have read this book many, many, MANY times and I STILL love it!

A book that I found interesting was by a Bishop named T.D. Jakes. The book is called Reposition Yourself.. living life without limits. It makes you take a long hard look at yourself, and those around you. And, how people play roles in your life. Or how the people in our lives shape us and not in so many words choose what we do. Kind of like a guide to be the ruler of your universe and success in life. It is the first book in a long time that I did not want to put down.

I am so with you here Kristi. I am done for the semester and that is one of the first things I did. I Eragon on my nightstand for months, just waiting to be read, but I didn't have the time. Between reading my text books and my school novel I just couldn't find the time to read my "fun" books. I am so glad to be back to reading what I want to read! Really looking forward to getting the book finished since I have not seen the movie yet (wanted to read the book first).
I have yet to read a Jodi Picoult book, but she is on my list of authors to check out.
Do you shop at Half Priced Books?! If you don't, you should. It's so cheap to buy books, specially when you can find hardcover books on clearance for $1 or $2!! The only books I pay full price for are Mary Higgens Clark, just because I can't wait more than 2 days after she releases a book to read it. LOL Oh okay, and the Harry Potter books. I couldn't wait on those either.

How about Jodi Picoult's new one Change of Heart, and the new one by Amanda Eyre Ward called Forgive Me? I haven't read either of these, but they both sound awesome & are on my list of books to read. (Which BTW, is ridiculously long! LOL.)

Reading for fun is soooo much better than reading what you have to. Enjoy yourself!

I loved Jodi Piccoult's new book, Change of Heart and if you'd like, I could send it to you. Right now I'm also reading Friday Night Knitting Club and I'm really enjoying it, the relationships and characters are very interesting. Let me know you'd like me to send the book, I don't mind.
