Any wine drinkers out there?
I am not much of a drinker (however margaritas are my weakness). My family however, loves to drink wine. As do many of my girlfriends. I am starting to learn just a little about wine, but I am pretty much ignorant about the differences (other than color!). I think I prefer the sweeter stuff....
Anyway, I went out with my mom, dad, gram and gramp a few nights ago to a fabulous Italian restaurant called Bella. I am writing a review and will post it when done. They have great happy-hour-wine-specials.
Here we are enjoying our wine!
I am calling out all the winos.....what is your favorite wine???

I am not a wine drinker at all, however, when we were living in California we went to a Hawaian resturant that served a white wine called Maui Blanc. I was able to find a bottle at a store along I-15, but have never found it anywhere else (including Colorado!) It went down very easy, and was just a tad sweet.
My dad has taken to drinking a glass of red wine in the evenings for the health benefits, and it a fan of Two-Buck Chuck ($2 a bottle.) We used to buy it by the case for him from Trader Joe's . . . another thing we don't have in Colorado!

mmmmmm....vino!!!!!!
I love Pinor Noir. It's a red wine and not too sweet. I like Mirrasou or Fat Cat brand the best. It just goes down sooo smooth.

Vouvret, it is a really great tasting white wine that pairs well with anything (or alone) My other fave is from a local vineyard the Cherry Creek Cellar. It is Cranberry Passion, a great red that tastes best warm to room temp.

Pinot Grigio...followed by a nice Chardonay. The Pinot Grigio is a very crisp clean tasting wine. I love it with appetizers or just by itself. I love Chardonay with chicken or fish, it's more full flavored. The only red wines I like are Cabernet and a certain Zin called 7 Deadly Zins....if you like red try that one it's yummy!

Here are some of my favorites. I prefer white over red.
Chateau Ste. Michelle-Riesling---I think you would like this one if you want a sweeter wine. You can drink it alone or with/as a dessert.
Chateau Ste. Jean-Chardonnay--a heavier white wine but with a very buttery taste.
Little Penguin-Chardonnay-A great cheap chardonnay.
Sterling Vineyard's--Cabernet Sauvignon--My favorite red wine
You also might like any Pinot Grigio or Chenin Blanc as it is very light-bodied or another kind called Semillon. (Say-Me-YOHN)
For me, I do not have to spend a lot of money for what I consider a good bottle of wine. Some of my favorites are $7 and the one of highest at $19.
Have fun with this!

I'm a whino answering your call! OMG how behind I am on reading blogs! With all the stresses of getting my house packed up and family coming and going my computer kind of went by the wayside. Now that things are going a little slower until we leave on the 2nd for Italy I can catch up with friends. I've saved this info into our laptop so I won't get so behind while waiting for my desktop to arrive and get unpacked.
Oh and my fave wines are whites right now (I go through a red phase now and again & love to have Pinot Noir or Merlot). My fave whites are Chenin Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Sauviougn Blanc (SP?), or a nice Reisling.

Nope, not a wine drinker. Even when I drank, I never really like the stuff. I'd have to go with Pinot Grigio if I had to pick a fav.

I love me some wine, but I don't need to tell you that! My fave is a good cab. I also love pinot noir. BV makes a good cab, as does Louis Martin. But, I'm always a huge fan of Robert mondavi. He rules!

I havent quite ventured into wine. Have been wanting to do a wine tasting for about a year now, so I can learn about them and see what my favorites are. I think i'd be more on the sweet side, but not too sweet.
