Coffee. Caffeine.
Do you NEED to have it?
Does your day begin with it before you can think straight?
Are you willing to spend up to $4 on a cup of fancy-schmancy coffee on a regular basis or it just a every-once-in-awhile treat? Or maybe Diet Coke or other caffeinated soda is your beverage of choice?
I am sure that a lot of you are nodding your heads "YES". Do you consider yourself addicted to caffeine? How many caffeinated drinks do you drink on a daily basis?
I cannot relate since I have been caffeine-free for about 10 years now (with an occasional piece of chocolate or cup of cocoa). Unlike most people, caffeine makes me feel sick rather than charged up. Is there anyone with me???

Other TFT posts this week:
I enjoy my cup of coffee on work mornings....only because at work they supply the coffee and flavored creamer :) But I won't spend $4 on a cup of coffee that would have to be a "special" occasion. I don't NEED to have it and there are many days that I skip it. And really I don't think it charges me up at all. I agree with you that I think it makes me feel crappy!! I would say that I am NOT addicted to caffeine

Oh I am a Diet Pepsi Addict for sure! Although lately I have been craving water a lot so I only drink it in the morning and warly afternoon and then the rest of the day I drink water.
But, I do need caffeine to get me started in the morning.

I drink 2 cups of coffee each work day (M-Th), but not until I get to work. Any more than 2 cups and I get the shakes! I don't need it to get going, but I enjoy the taste, the warmth, and the smell!
I will NOT spend any more than a buck or two on a cup of coffee and that is only from SA. I buy Dunkin Dounuts coffee from Costco and make my own at home on the weekends.
Every now and then I will have a cup in the early evening on the weekends if I feel I'm not going to make it into the night.
I take my coffee with 2 Splenda's and milk :)
I've given up drinking any sort of soda, and lost weight because of it!

Yep, I'm addicted. Need it everyday! If I drink too much though I get a headache. I will splurge like once a week for the good stuff. I don't drink too much soda anymore but LOVE coke!

i'm so with you here. my hubby drinks coke all the time, and it looks good to me until i take a swig and get an INSTANT HEADACHE from the caffeine.

I need a diet coke in the am. I had serious headaches when I quit cold turkey when I was pregnant. Even then I allowed myself to have one caffeine free diet coke a day.
I'm not too hot on coffee, though I like a iced mocha latte now and again.

Nope, not addicted to caffeine. Like you, too much caffeine makes me feel sick to my stomach. Coffee in particular makes me feel gross, and really jittery. I rarely drink coffee, and don't even like the taste of it, except for a latte every now and again (and of course a cafe con leche- Spain style- is delicious!) I love Coke, but only regular. I don't drink it that often though. I'd say I have 1-3 caffeinated beverages a week. If I go to a coffee shop my drink of choice is chai tea.

I NEED my Diet Coke...everyday. I don't get sick, or get a headache or anything if I don't have it but I just am not focused if it's been a while since my last DC. HATE coffee though. Won't drink it. That's so cool you've been caffeine free for so long...maybe someday...ha

I am not a caffine drinker AT ALL (though I will admit to a Coke or two while pregnant - the syrup sometimes does wonders for morning sickness.) I have never been a coffee drinker - though I love the smell - but do enjoy chocolate on a semi-regular basis. Starbucks scares the crap out of me! I hit it up a couple of times during the winter months for hot chocolate or apple cider - both are the best I've ever had.

I do not drink caffeine. I do get decaf (I know they have a tiny bit of caffeine) Caribou coffee every once in awhile as a treat and I enjoy that. I do eat chocolate every so often too. I have avoided caffeine for about 6 years and I am SO glad I am not reliant on it. I see how people are in the morning without their coffee or caffeine and I'm glad I'm not one of them.

I do like coffee and its not really for the caffeine. I love the smell of it and the taste. I don't have to start my morning with coffee either; sometimes it's a nice cuppa of hot tea (green, lemon, white, etc). If i had Starbucks around I would treat myself now and then to apple cider or a nice frap but I don't make it a habit to spend $4 on coffee all the time.
