On Saturday Betty and I took a long walk around downtown Austin. We saw so much and I took several pictures. Here are a some of the photos.
Congress Street Bridge, home of 1.5 million bats
Olives are just one of two foods I have an aversion to, but I thought this was cool
A bridal party posing for photos down by the river
Not sure the name of this building, but it has gorgeous architecture
Playing around in a souvenir shop...
This guy was in a souvenir shop too...
Me at the Capitol
Inside the dome of the capitol
Some sites around the famous 6th Street
Keeping Austin Weird at the Museum of Weird
Tears of Joy Hot Sauce Shop
After we walked and walked and walked some more, Betty and I met our co-worker Erik at a Cuban restaurant on 6th St. called Habana 6. Both Betty and Erik are Cubanos living in Miami and missed the cuisine, so they wanted to see what Austin had in the way of Cuban food. I had never had Cuban food before but I thought it was pretty good and they both liked what they ordered as well. I am in the process of doing mini-reviews of all the restaurants I eat at while in Austin on the Twin Cities Restaurant Blog.
More to come later!
What an awesome sightseeing tour.
That dome is gorgeous!
And who on earth counted the bats?
Love that sepia shot too, like time travel :)
Way, way cool :)
