A perfectly beautiful maple tree, covered in SNOW. (Taken 10-12-09)
I woke up on Saturday 10/10 to find snow covering the ground!! It melted by afternoon but that is the earliest October snowfall that I can remember. Two days later on 10/12, there was more snow on the ground when I woke up and it continued to snow almost all day!
Has Winter has decided to come early this year??!! As much as I detest snow and cold weather, I hope we have a very snowy season this year so that our lakes can fill back up! It can wait until December to arrive though, it would be nice to enjoy the rest of Autumn first :)
Oh my! Snow! Yeah, that's way early. It's beautiful though! Good thing you got some good fall color pictures when you did. If your weather is too snowy and cold, it'll knock all the leaves down.

that's crazy--but makes a nice picture.

Oh dear that is early! We occasionally get October snow but we have not had any so far this year. We have had enough the last few years though that we can wait till at least the end of November. I kind of like it at Thanksgiving.

You know... I found myself Monday morning, standing on my front step watching the glittery snow fall from the dark sky. It was beautiful. I think I may have stepped outside of myself that morning because I hate winter, the cold, the snow, the mess yet I took the time to just watch it snow. It really is beautiful and I know I could never live without the snow at least for Christmas... but it is October and it shouldn't be snowing! It is too early.

I agree, yuck. Glad I was gone. I just don't think beautiful red, yellow and orange trees need snow quite yet! And I don't look forward to winter at all, not even in December!
