It has been about 2 years now since I stopped drinking soda. Prior to that I was drinking approx two regular caffeine-free sodas a day, but only drank them with meals (usually Sprite or root beer). After I stopped drinking soda I miraculously started losing weight, it seemed there was a definite connection between drinking soda and weight for me. I have a sensitivity to aspartame so drinking diet isn't an option. Every once in awhile I will drink a soda if it is purchased as part of a combo meal, but I do not miss it and drink water 98% of the time.
I know a ton of people out there drink a lot of soda every day, so now I would like to ask my readers:
Do you drink soda? Which are your favorites? Diet or regular? How many do you drink a day? Do you drink it just to drink it or only with meals? If you do not drink soda, what is the reason?

I am proud to say I am not a big soda drinker. All that fake crap and corn syrup in there just is not good for you! But...notice I said I'm not a "big" soda drinker. I love Coke, and I'd say I have about one can a week. Now that I'm pregnant I've been buying caffeine free Coke just to satisfy my craving, but normally I drink regular. I hate diet soda with a passion. Good for you for cutting it out all together!

I drink diet coke. I was once very good and would only have a can with lunch and maybe one in the evening. I have gone back to full addiction mode and debate ditching it all together. I know it would probably be best.

Aside for a couple of sips from Hubby's Pepsi can the last time I was pregnant, I can't remember the last time I had pop. Too much sugar and too many empty calories! I got Hubby to give up soda shortly after we started living together (by refusing to buy it when I took over grocery shopping.) He immediately lost weight, and kept it off. Now, however, he is back to drinking it on a regular basis, and is wondering why the weight has crept back on.

I don't drink soda everyday. When I do I will drink a diet pepsi or a diet coke. Mostly I drink iced tea when we go out to eat. Occasionally I will drink a sprite.

I really only drink soda (otherwise known as pop in our house!) when I'm having fast food like you said, with a combo meal. Often I still only have water if it's a small lunch or something. In restaurants I always drink water... unless I'm really in the mood for a mixed drink. I don't drink pop at home. Except for when my husband makes me a nice rum and coke :) I'm just not a big pop drinker. I'm not a fan of carbonated drinks in general.
All in all I'd say I drink the equivalent of maybe one soda a week.
Oh, and the little bit I do drink? It's always diet coke. Not because I'm trying to be good with the "diet", I just like the taste better.

Nope, I have been nearly pop free for 10 years. I have never been a fan of the carbonation. Plus with all the additives that stuff just can't be good for you. My brother used to drink a 2 liter of Mt. Dew a day. He is 28 and has had 3 teeth pulled because they rotted due to over consumption of pop. I am a sucker for drinking Sprite or Sierra Mist when I am sick though- mom always said it settles your stomach.

I drink pop about once a month. I also do not drink caffeine so I am limited to what kind I can drink and I don't like the thought of having aspertame with diet pop. I usually drink the same as you...Sprite, Sierra Mist or my favorite, root beer.

In my vocabulary ... it's pop, not soda. :) Drives David nuts. :) Anyway, I don't drink a ton of it. When I do, I like Diet Coke. But I'd say I drink more coffee, water and iced tea. However, David drinks a LOT of diet coke. He drinks about a two liter a day, plus. The boly is hooked and isn't happy in the morning until he gets his "DC". :)

I am not a big pop drinker. I will have a coke now and then, but other than that, not much. I like coffee in the morning and once in the afternoon. That is my caffeine fix for the day.

I NEED to stop drinking pop. For the past probably 15 years I've needed at least 1 pop a day... I did quit drinking pop in late 2006, I got to where I could have a pop once in a while and not need it everyday. However, that didn't last, in late 2007 I was back to drinking pop on a daily basis. Now, I still want pop every day. I don't always have it because I won't buy it for home, but I normally end up stopping to get one on the way to work or on my lunch break.
I don't know why I need it either, the caffiene doesn't help to wake me up or anything, I just enjoy the taste. Diet Dew has always been my favorite until I got pregnant then I craved a Fountain Coke every day. I STILL have that craving.
Diet or regular, neither are good for you and I do want to quit drinking it. I just need to set a date and do it! I swear quitting pop is harder than quitting smoking was. LOL
